Win: my 5-minute reset routine stopped long scrolling sessions

Example
Alex4/11/2026, 9:18:00 AMThis is a seeded example thread.3

My old pattern was always the same: quick bathroom break, then phone scrolling, then 12+ minutes gone. I changed only one thing first: start the timer before anything else. After one week I added a second rule: when the 5-minute reminder appears, stand up immediately and finish. The surprising part is not productivity. It is the reduction in mental drag after each break. Keeping it simple worked better than trying a complicated habit stack.

How to Add Value Here
1. Say what trigger or pattern you noticed.
2. Share the one rule or experiment you tested.
3. Mention what changed after a few sessions.
4. Keep it specific enough that someone else can copy it today.

The "timer first" rule is what finally made it stick for me too.

I do this with no phone in hand until after stop. Huge difference.
